Fox News Investigation Demands Wide Net

This was the comment that decided whether or not I would cover this latest campaign to force Issa to investigate Fox and start a media war.

“RUPERT MURDOCH’S YOUNG THIRD WIFE..CHINESE..LOVELY..28 YEARS OLD…IS A GOOD FRIEND OF THE OBAMAS. SHE HAS DONE FUND RAISING FOR THEM.

“MURDOCH..UNDER HER INFLUENCE? HAS BECOME OPEN BORDERS..GREAT PAL OF MAYOR BLOOMBERG…MURDOCH TESTIFUED BEFORE CONGRESS THAT AMESTY..”HAD TO HAPPEN”

“THIS IS DEMOCRATS SENDING A MESSAGE TO MEXICO..TAKE ISSA OUT..AND YOUR PROBLEMS ARE OVER. AND FOR THE HILL TO PRINT IT…STUNNING . STUNNING. TO EQIVALATE FAST AND FURIOUS WITH PHONE HACKING..WITH MURDEROUS BARBARIANS AT OUR DOOR..WITH RECONQUISTAS RUNNING THE USA GOVT..

“THIS IS PUTTING A SIGN ON DARRYL ISSA’S BACK AND SAYING..:SHOOT ME. AND IN MEXICO..THEY DO. POLITICANS JOURNALISTS…NOW THEY ARE SHOOTING TEACHERS..THAT IS WHO DEMOCRATS ARE DEFENDING. ”

Pat loses me in the end, but I think it is interesting that she thinks Murdoch getting to chill with the O’s meant very much.  Hosni Mubarak was a family friend of the Clintons and look what that got him?  Plus, I doubt Obama wants to be getting too close to the toxic plume that is being floated around  the investigation into what Fox was doing hacking into 911 victim’s lives.  Murdoch and company know that all politicians want money now so he is out there betting his last years that he can remain afloat, for a little while longer.

Politicians these days value loyalty a bit differently than they did when most of us learned about that.  And blogger Pat I’m sure most Mexicans could care less about whether or not Fox News is investigated for being a fraud, but folks like Pat need to get out more.  I only wish all the networks and all their pundits could be put on trial for the way they condoned the mess that was happening and failed to report sincerely on what they saw.  The media is a mess, we all agree on that, let’s start here and go through the lot of them.  We complained when there were only three TV networks, now we have endless networks.  Let’s at least decide on what the boundaries are for privacy.

The “traditional” media powers have come through a lot since the great book by David Halberstam, “The Best and the Brightest,” where he traced the power lineages of our nation across the major media families.  The Sulzbergers, the Grahams, Hearst, Chandler, Luce, Kennedy and others.  Those were the days of Camelot and stress free living.

The media greats today are tough to spot but the world will certainly will be different without Steve Jobs, and hopefully, we won’t be set back again in getting the resources we need to everyone online.  We need to begin to hold the media accountable for their role in our troubles, in our foreign policies and we need to get truth in reporting back to a level where the majority of the public trusts them.  Right now, it’s below 20%.  It should begin with the recent problem with Fox News and their policies of invasion into 911 victims lives.

“Given the lack of an investigation on the Democratic controlled Senate side of a matter where a tabloid report is the basis of allegations, this is yet another whiny admission by the minority of their ineffective approach to oversight that is more focused on obstructing current investigations than on using their resources to uncover waste and abuse in government.”

“The controversy surrounding News Corp. erupted in July as one of the company’s best-selling British newspapers, the News of the World, was shuttered over allegations that employees bribed U.K. law enforcement officials and illegally hacked phones in pursuit of stories.

“The Justice Department immediately launched its own investigation into the company to see whether it violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Attorney General Eric Holder met with families of 9/11 victims late last month to update them on the agency’s progress.

“Braley sent two letters to Issa in July asking him to investigate the allegations after the news made headlines. The committee Democrats said it was “unacceptable” that Issa had not responded to their earlier letters.

“The Democrats said that while they were mindful of not interfering with the DOJ investigation, the committee should take “preliminary steps to determine how to proceed,” such as arranging a meeting with the families of 9/11 victims and a meeting with DOJ.

“Braley said he was “disappointed” in Issa’s lack of response to his calls for an investigation and that “the victim’s families of these horrific attacks deserve to know whether their loved ones were targeted in this offensive and potentially illegal manner.”

Or you can suggest alternatives and other POV’s for us to share.  We want a thorough investigation of all media as too much has changed too quickly and no one is happy.  The consumers are paying too much and the standards for kids is appalling.
