Cloud computing does have it risks. There have been a few incidents where vendors have simply gone out of business, leaving clients behind. In the meantime, especially now in this economic climate, companies are looking to cloud computing as a way to reduce their costs. But executives, including security pros, have little to go by when going through the process of choosing a vendor.
The Cloud Security Alliance, launched at the RSA Conference last week, will establish guidelines and processes that will help companies through the complexities of choosing a cloud vendor. We caught up with Nils Puhlmann at the conference to talk about the alliance and what role it will play. Nils is co-founder of the alliance and chief security officer at Qualys.
